Yukti Narang

Writer, poet, screenwriter and cultural critic

Yukti Narang is an Indian writer working across fiction, poetry, screenwriting and cultural criticism. Her fiction has appeared in Mother Tongue, Ninth Letter, The Ex-Puritan and AAWW’s The Margins, while her wider writing has been published by MAP Academy, Room, Aniko Press, Ekstasis, Svasa Life and Oh Reader, among others.

Her stories have also featured in fiction anthologies published by Rupa Publications and Blaft Publications. Her debut poetry collection, There Is a Home in All of Us, was published in 2023. Moving between literary forms, Yukti’s work engages with questions of home, culture, identity and belonging. She is currently developing a book length work of fiction and a screenplay.

    Yukti Narang is a Rocaberti Writers’ Retreat scholar and recipient of an SOA Authors’ Foundation Grant. She has been a finalist for the Oxbelly Fiction Writers Program and the Speculative Literature Foundation’s A.C. Bose Grant. Her writing has been nominated for or recognised by the Pushcart Prize, Best of the Net, the Toto Award and the Building Bridges Prize. She recently workshopped her book in progress with Tin House under the mentorship of Lesley Nneka Arimah and presented her screenplay at Rocaberti under the mentorship of Warner Bros executive Kelly Goode in Girona, Spain.
